Accept terms before creating an account
ChessXT requires new users to accept the Terms and Conditions and acknowledge the Privacy Policy before an account is created. This protects players, schools, organizers, and the platform because the account rules are clear from the first session.
The same expectation applies to email registration and Google registration. If you use Google, accept the terms first, then continue through the Google sign-in screen.
Choose email OTP or Google sign-in
Email registration creates a ChessXT username and sends a verification OTP to your email address. You can sign in before verification, but the account remains in an email-verification state until the OTP is completed.
Google sign-in uses a verified Google email and can create a ChessXT account faster. If a Google-created profile is missing required personal details, ChessXT sends the player to Profile before continuing.
Complete personal details for safety and certificates
ChessXT asks for name and date of birth because age-aware safety, junior profiles, school workflows, events, and certificates need reliable identity context. Date of birth is private and should not be treated as public profile content.
Country, state, and city help certificates, school programs, and local activity feel more meaningful, but they should be managed carefully for younger players and privacy-sensitive accounts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to accept the Terms and Conditions to register?
Yes. ChessXT requires terms acceptance before email or Google registration can create a new account.
Why does Google registration send me to Profile?
Google can provide verified email and name, but it may not provide date of birth or certificate-ready profile details. ChessXT asks you to complete those fields after first sign-in.
Is date of birth public?
No. Date of birth is private account data used for age-aware safety, events, school flows, and certificate eligibility.
